Where Hollywood History Meets Mid-Century Modern Design

1400 N. Hayworth Avenue | West Hollywood, California 90046

Situated right off the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, The Hollywood Riviera is a stunning example of Mid-Century Modern architecture, designed by acclaimed Southern California architect Edward Fickett . Built in 1954 by developer Julian Weinstock, the thirty-eight unit building embodies the optimism and elegance of postwar Los Angeles ... clean lines, open courtyards, and a timeless aesthetic that continues to captivate filmmakers and photographers alike.

Architect, write, critic, and former denizen Aaron Betsky wrote in his 1994 L.A Times tribute of how the building’s “landscape, image, structure—the basic elements of architecture—came together with a degree of clarity that is to me one of the hallmarks of great Los Angeles architecture.”

For over half a century, The Hollywood Riviera has been featured in major motion pictures, television productions, commercials, and editorial photo shoots, offering a quintessential sun-drenched, mid-century vibe that’s both historic and effortlessly cinematic.
