The Oscar
Film (1966)
Frankie Fane (played by Stephen Boyd) is a small-time nightclub hustler whose ruthless ambition propels him to Hollywood stardom. Along the way, he uses and betrays everyone who helps him, including his loyal friend and manager, Hymie Kelly (Tony Bennett), and his wife, Kay (Elke Sommer).
As Frankie becomes increasingly arrogant and unscrupulous, his climb to fame alienates everyone around him. The film builds toward the night of the Academy Awards, where Frankie is nominated for Best Actor...and faces the consequences of his own moral decay.
